should I pull the bottom leaves off? I'm not sure if I leave them or pull them to make the plant prettier.

Only pull of the very bottom ones, especially if they feel slightly loose, as that will give space for new growth.

I agree, just a few offthe bottom, especially if they have squishy bases against the plant

hmm maybe just a few of the bottom that might be getting crushed, and then you could have them to propagate 😆, that's why I do with mine
